Greetings Riders,

If you missed the newsletter last week entitled "Lemon to Lemonade", Click Here to Read. This is a story that turned misfortune into a great day and will give you what I call the Figure 8 ride that takes you through Bagdad. I also included 94 photos from the day.

Well, if you have had a pulse for the last few days, you have probably heard of the controversy about the NFL and the protests that are taking place during the National Anthem. I am not going to get into the politics for the NFL players doing this. That is their agenda and they can deal with it the way they want as part of the first amendment. Where I personally have the problem is the platform that they have chosen to make this protest, and that is during the singing of the National Anthem. Some things should just remain outside of politics.

If they are that passionate about the cause, I would think that taking an entire NFL team to the places that the problems are, to see what they could personally to help change things, would garner a lot more success to actually make a difference. Something like that would be way more respectable, would not drive a wedge between people by disrespecting the flag, and would help start a dialog from all sides. It is a good idea, but don't hold your breathe, I seriously doubt that we will see that any time soon.

As most of you know, there has been a big push by certain factions of our country for political correctness with the intent to change the cultures of this country that we have had for years. It seems that when most of us don't agree with these changes we just shake our heads and don't take the effort to do anything about it. I am guilty of that myself. We have been so conditioned to believe that if we don't agree with whatever these protests are, that we are out of touch or racist, then we chalk it up to changing times and move aside.

But for me, when it comes to people trying to marginalize the importance of the National Anthem with their own cause, by not taking 3 minutes to stand to honor our country, and more importantly for those that have died for it, I have to personally do what I can to tap the brakes on that unacceptable movement. It isn't the majority, but the vocal few that are driving these changes. If we don't watch it, the National Anthem is going to end up being pushed aside with prayer in schools. With that in mind, I am going to do what I can from the small podium that I have to make a difference.

On Friday, November 10th at the Cyclerides.com Bike Night at Westgate Entertainment District, we are going to dedicate this night to celebrate Veterans Day by Honoring our Veterans that so deserve everything that we can do to say THANK YOU! We will have the band CTS playing that night. Jeff Senour is a great patriot and will perform an excellent show to celebrate our Veterans and those that are serving our Country today. And yes, we will be singing the National Anthem as well as another special song to honor those in combat! The place will be full of flags, patriotism and people who love our military and the U.S.A. Please put this date on your calendar and bring all of the Veterans that you can with you to enjoy their night at the Cyclerides.com Bike Night. Stay tuned for more details.

I would like to display some flag painted motorcycles and cars. If you have something like that, would you please email me at info@cyclerides.com to arrange getting them to show.

God Bless America!

Ride Safe,
Barry

Cyclerides.com Bike Night

Started Friday, September 8th
Cyclerides.com Bike Night at Westgate Entertainment District.

Cyclerides.com Bike Night at Westgate Entertainment District will begin our 9th Fall Season with 11 nights total on Friday, September 8th from 5pm - 9pm. Yes, you read that correct, Friday night. Due to interest in Friday nights last time and some conflict with events at the arena, we have decided to do the first 7 Cyclerides.com Bike Nights at Westgate on Friday nights. For those of you putting this in your calendars to keep track, those dates will be Friday nights from September 8th - October 20th.

Here is where it gets a little tricky. Our first idea was to do the last 4 nights on Thursday nights and that is how we were going to proceed. Then Westgate got notified of an event happening at the arena on Thursday, Nov. 9th. So we are switching that one night to Friday, November 10th when we will have a big Veteran's Day celebration at bike night. So the last 4 nights will be on Thursdays, October 26th, November 2nd and November 16th for the last night. November 10th will be on a Friday. It was unfortunate that we couldn't keep all 4 Thursdays in a row, but with all the conflicts either way, this was the best way to do it.

This is a great excuse for all to get out on the motorcycle and enjoy some cooler weather especially for evening riding. There was a lot of good feedback on Friday nights last time as a lot of people used it for a date night on the motorcycle and were able to stay out a little longer as for some it isn't a work night.

Live Music:
Friday, September 29th: "Mojo Rats"
Friday, October 6th: "The Visitors"
Friday, October 13th: "Supernatural"
Friday, October 20th: "Strangeland"
